On October 24, 2012 the Shaker Pines community lost one of its most precious, thirteen year old Hope
Harnett in a tragic fire in her home.  The Enfield community as a whole has felt this loss deeply as it serves as
a reminder of just how fragile and precious life truly is.

In this loss we are determined to keep the memory ofHope connected to the legacy that she demonstrated

in her life.  Many members of our community have joined together and created the

Hope Hart Scholarship Foundation

The goal of this foundation is to honor Hope’s kindness, love for others and passion for music.  The committee

is working on community fund raising events that we will have throughout the year.   We are looking to connect

with and support our youth, through volunteerism within the community as well as many fun and exciting events

that we will raise scholarship monies.

All proceeds raised during events will go directly to the Foundation and will be used for junior high and high

school students in the town of Enfield that demonstrate exemplary scholastic records and have an interest in

music, which was Hope’s passion.

The committee will be presenting multiple scholarships yearly to Enfield Jr. High and High School students

through the guidance offices.

The Hartnett/Hart families would also like to thank the community for their support of the recent months

and extend their heartfelt gratitude to all that have supported them and this scholarship in Hope’s honor.
