On October 24, 2012 the Shaker Pines community lost one of its most precious, thirteen year old Hope
Harnett in a tragic fire in her home. The Enfield community as a whole has felt this loss deeply as it serves as
a reminder of just how fragile and precious life truly is.
In this loss we are determined to keep the memory ofHope connected to the legacy that she demonstrated
in her life. Many members of our community have joined together and created the
The goal of this foundation is to honor Hope’s kindness, love for others and passion for music. The committee
is working on community fund raising events that we will have throughout the year. We are looking to connect
with and support our youth,through volunteerism within the community as well as many fun and exciting events
that we will raise scholarship monies.
All proceeds raised during events will go directly to the Foundation and will be used for junior high and high
school students in the town of Enfield that demonstrate exemplary scholastic records and have an interest in
music, which was Hope’s passion.
The committee will be presenting multiple scholarships yearly to Enfield Jr. High and High School students
through the guidance offices.
On March 30th (replaces February 9, 2013 date due to storm) , we are having a Pasta dinner at the Elks Lodge on 138 North Maple Street in Enfield.
The event hours are from 5p.m. until midnight and a donation of $ 15 for adults and ages 9 to 16yrs are $10.
The event will be hosted by the Scholarship committee with a DJ and we will have many raffle gifts and door
prizes available. If you are interested in attending and would like tickets, please contact the following
individuals. We will have tickets sold at the door also that evening.
The Hartnett/Hart families would also like to thank the community for their support of the recent months
